In School Program Ages 17 to 21
We offer young people who are currently in high school an opportunity to learn about career awareness, work experience and job shadow experience to achieve academic and employment success as they transition into adulthood, while earning an hourly wage. Any young person who wishes to see if they qualify for the program can call the Youth Department at 847- 377-3447.
Out of School Program Ages 19 to 21
We also offer young people who did not complete high school an opportunity to complete their GED and get some occupational skills/employment training while earning an hourly wage. If young people have their GED or high school diploma, they may want to enroll in the skills/employment piece of the program. If a young person wishes to see if they qualify for assistance in this age group call the Youth Department at 847-377-3447.
Summer Employment Program
This popular program, funded by Lake County, provides meaningful work experiences for approximately 150 youth each summer. Applications are accepted each February for the summer program.
To qualify for employment, youth must be between the ages of 14 & 18, in school and meet low income guidelines. Youth ages 14 thru 22 with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) , in school, could also be eligible.
